Notes: No notes, loved the series. I really love shows that you can find new details, parallels and connections during your rewatch. I will now note a few of those details I loved most LOL. When we first are introduced to Ekko, his initial line is "I need a minute.". (No spoilers here, but iykyk). Each episode intro held speed frames where details relevant to that episode or plot development were shown. Jinx remembers people by scent because their voices have a way of harming her even when they are gone. Finally, Caitlyn only misses her shots when she is shooting for revenge.



Sinners | Feature Film

In 1932 Mississippi, two twin brothers, former soldiers and bootleggers, return to their hometown to open a juke joint, only to find themselves entangled in a world of blues music, spiritualism, and dangerous racial tensions, where even death may not be the end.

Rating: 11/10

Notes: One of the most artist and beautifully crafted films highlighting African American culture, especially within the South. I held very personal ties with this film as a black woman from the Southern US, and as one with ancestral ties to Hoodoo. I could write an entire essay alone about this film. One of the things I noted and loved was the usage of 'Pick Poor Robin Clean'- a song originally made by a Black woman named Geeshee Wildey the year prior to when the film is set. It is just one of the many examples of detail to the era and storytelling, as it further showcases the metaphor that Remmick will steal cultures/identities to regain his own.



Lights Out | Novel

338 pages

Overworked nurse Aly Cappellucci is obsessed with a masked, knife-wielding social media influencer, the "Faceless Man," who is actually Josh Hammond, a cybersecurity expert dealing with the legacy of his serial killer father.

Rating: 7/10

Notes: I am not typically a dark romance, nor spicy genre reader but I found myself surprised by enjoying this. Finished very quickly, I think two days? I find most attempts at "dark romance" are borderline psychopathic or holds a questionable sense of morals but this book had a lot of personality! Plenty of humor, and touched on darker/mature topics while still holding onto humanity.
